Police seal off proposed venue for UPND rally

Police have surrounded Kanyama’s Twashuka grounds where the UPND is scheduled to hold a rally today. Police command in Lusaka denied the party a permit, citing “unstable security situation” in the capital city, but the party have vowed to go ahead and hold the event.

The heavily-armed officers are currently preventing anyone from accessing the premises.

They have reportedly arrested UPND cadre Innocent Kalimanshi, commonly known as Inno, and have taken him to Lusaka Central Police.
