Police officer who was shot by fellow officer diesÂ
CONSTABLE Lennox Kapila,26, a police officer who was shot by a fellow police officer has died.
Kapila was shot in the stomach by constable Edwin Kabasiya of Meanwood Police, on Friday after an altercation whilst he was on duty at Munali Police Station.
Zambia Police Service Spokesperson Mrs Esther Mwaata Katongo has told Mwebantu in statement that the Kapila died between 09 00 hours and 10 00 hours today at Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital today.
Police yesterday recovered a firearm and uniform believed to have been used by in the shoot out.
“The fire arm used in the act was found dumped near Kamwena Police Post together with a pair of Combat uniform. It was found by Police officers. The suspect is still on the run.” Mrs Katongo said.
