Police Nab Woman For Pouring Hot Porridge On Her Daughter

Police have apprehended  a 32 year old woman of Lusaka’s Kanyama Township for allegedly burning her 16 year daughter with hot porridge.

MIRRIAM TEMBO is alleged to have poured hot porridge on her daughter after she eloped with her boyfriend.

Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA says the victim’s mother is currently in police custody for causing Grievous bodily harm to her daughter.

Meanwhile, University Teaching Hospital Public Relations Officer NATALIE MASHIKOLO says the Hospital has continued to see an increase in cases of burns

She says currently the hospital has about 7 cases of burns of which two are epileptic.

Ms. MASHIKOLO has since advised families with epileptic members to care for them especially when there is a brazier nearby.
