Police Impound Truck with Copper Ore

A truck loaded with copper ore has been impounded by the Police Service Anti-Copper theft team on the Copperbelt province.

The copper ore is suspected to have been stolen from China Luanshya Mine.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner, PEACEWELL MWEEMBA says the suspects have been jointly charged with the offence of being in possession of property believed to have been unlawful obtained.

In a statement made available to ZNBC News, Mr. MWEEMBA said the incident occurred yesterday at around 23:40 hours on Luanshya stream bridge.

He said the suspects are in custody at New town Police post.
