POLICE COMMITS TO SPORTS

The Police command has pledged to continue promoting sports for its officers to remain healthy and alert on duty.
Speaking during the Zambia Police 2018 annual Sports awards ceremony in Lusaka, Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja said the service will provide financial and material support to all teams and individuals involved in various sports disciplines.
Zambia’s 400meters gold medalist Sydney Siame was voted Zambia Police Sportsman of the year while Evelyn Siamupangila from Badminton is the sports woman of the year winner.
Both sports personalities have been promoted to the rank of Inspector.
Mr. Kanganja also promoted ten other sports men and women drawn from different units and sports disciplines under the command from constable to Sergeant.
The Zambia Police Service sponsors sixteen teams in various sports associations including the Nkwazi football club which campaigns in the FAZ Super league and many other teams in lower divisions across the country.
