Police Arrest Suspected Chilanga Serial Killer

POLICE in Chilanga have apprehended a suspect behind the defiling and strangling to death of two female juveniles aged three years and seven years.
The suspect has been identified as Tapela Phiri aged 21 years of Linda compound.
He is reported to have gone to his sister’s house around 19: 00 hours yesterday, 5th March, 2017 where he picked his three year old niece identified as Judith Tembo and the seven year old girl identified as Agness Nkhoma, whose parents live in the neighborhood.
Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo has disclosed that the suspect took the children to the bush in Mimosa area where he defiled them and latter murdered them.
Katongo says the suspect also stuffed leaves and grass in the victim’s mouths to prevent them from screaming.
“He later dumped the two bodies of the female juveniles along mimosa road,” Katongo has said.
The bodies of the deceased juveniles were discovered by a motorist in the early hours of today at about 02: 00 hours and he alerted police.
She says the bodies are in UTH mortuary while the suspect is detained in police custody.
