Poisoned beer leads to a man’s death in Kawambwa, Police say

A 23 year old man of Medium density area, Kawambwa has died, after reportedly consuming tainted alcohol.
It is reported that the deceased identified as Stain Chungu on Monday between 12:00 and 18:00hrs arrived home from Posa village and later took the truck which he was driving to the garage for repairs and thereafter decided to drink beer at a nearby Bar in PWD compound where he also met some of his friends.
Deputy Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has narrated to Mwebantu in a statement that the deceased together with his elder brother Mwila Chungu drunk beer before he left for the garage to check on the progress.
Hamoonga further narrated that the deceased later went home after collecting his truck and that upon arrival home he started feeling some chest pains.
“He shouted for help and his brother and mother who were at home quickly attended to him but the pain persisted. That’s how they decided to rush him to Kawambwa General Hospital where he later died from.
Hamoonga said police suspect foul play but that investigations into the matter have been instituted.
