Footballing nations from around the world are all competing in the World Cup qualifying round for their chance to play in the 22nd Fifa World Cup which will be played in Qatar in 2022. Six confederations are currently hosting the qualifiers in their regions and include, AFC, CAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, UEFA, and CONCACAF. Zambia will have a month’s rest before playing their remaining matches of the qualifiers round in November where they will play against Equatorial Guinea and Tunisia. The leaders of their respective groups will then go on to play in the third round of the qualifiers which will take place in March 2022 and will be played in an away and home game. The five countries that win their third round matches will go on to participate in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Uefa is the biggest of all the confederations participating in the World Cup qualifiers. A total of 55 countries in Europe are competing for their spot in the in finals in Qatar next year. There are 13 slots available to European countries for the upcoming World Cup and the qualifiers will be played in two rounds. The first round of qualifiers will finish in November and the winners of each group will then participate in round two which will take place in March next year. The kick off for the much anticipated 2022 World Cup will for the first time be played in November to December due to the extreme heat of summer in Qatar.

The first match is scheduled to kick off on the 21 of November and the final match will be played on the 18th of December 2022.
