“PF’S FATE WITH REGISTRAR SHOULD NOT BE POLITICISED”

Centre for Policy Dialogue -CPD-Executive Director CAROLINE KATOTOBWE says the decision to de-register the Patriotic Front  if the party does not comply with the law within 7 days should not be politicized.

Ms. KATOTOBWE says the Patriotic Front has not complied with the requirements of producing 10 office bearers of the party and therefore, warrants a notice to comply within 7 days or face de-registration.

She says Zambia is a sovereign state that is governed by laws and therefore calls for every Zambian and organisation to adhere to the rule of law irrespective of status in society.

Ms KATOTOBWE says it would be a dis-service to the country’s political dispensation and budding democracy if office bearers such as the Chief Registrar of Societies did not diligently execute duties.

In a statement availed to ZNBC News, Ms. KATOTOBWE said the nation having hosted the summit for democracy barely a month ago needs to continue on a path that demonstrates impartiality when it comes to the application of the laws of the land.
