By Christopher Miti:
The Patriotic Front -PF- has scooped the Vubwi Council chairperson by-election after its candidate Vincent Mwale polled 4-thousand, 1-hundred and 48 votes beating his closest rival Given Sakala of UPND who polled 2-thousand 9-hundred and 12 votes.
MMD’s Faindani Mbewe came third and polled 3-hundred and 41 votes.
7-thousand 5-hundred and 70 people cast their votes in the by-election from 18-thousand 4-hundred and 41 registered voters from the old register.
Returning officer Antony Chupa announced the results around 02:30 this morning.
Mr. Chupa declared that 1-hundred and 69 ballot papers were rejected.
The by-election was caused by the death of PF’s Joshua Daka in December last year.
