PF is only democratic party,says Lungu

February 11, 2020February 11, 202024By Hector Simfukwe-President Edgar Lungu says the Patriotic Front is the only democratic party in Zambia.President Lungu says some political parties have not held any intra party elections since the time their parties were formed.He said some named parties just appoint officials instead of electing them.President LUNGU says the PF has held a number of party conventions to elect its leaders.The President says no wonder some political parties keep on changing Vice Presidents because there is no democracy in their party.Meanwhile, speaking during a rally in Mayuka Village, Chilubi Constituency, President LUNGU disclosed that he will retire after 2026.President Lungu said the Constitution Amendment Bill number ten of 2019 is not meant to prolong his stay in office as the term of office is defined by the constitution.And, President Lungu said the PF will take more development to Mayuka village of Chilubi Island.
