PF in K3.2m advertising debt

The Patriotic Front –PF- owes Times Print Park Zambia Limited and LAMASAT Media K3.2- million in unpaid campaign advert charges accrued in the run up to the 2021 General Election.

This came to light in the LUSAKA Magistrate Court in a matter where former Patriotic Front-PF Secretary General DAVIS MWILA is charged with possession of 102 million KWACHA deemed to be proceed of crime.

Zambia Daily Mail Limited and Times Print Park Commercial Director CHIYUKA MASEKA has revealed that the PF owes Times Print Park Zambia Limited K1.7-million in unpaid campaign adverts charge, arising from the business agreements brokered in April 2021.

Mr. MASEKA testified before LUSAKA Chief Resident Magistrate DAVIES CHIBWILI that a LUSAKA Law Firm ANNA MWITWA and Company was a conduit by the PF for the payment of campaign adverts charges to Times Print Park ZAMBIA Limited and Zambia Daily Mail Limited Newspapers.

He further testified that Times Print Park ZAMBIA Limited and ZAMBIA Daily Mail  Limited respectively charged PF two point eight million KWACHA for the campaign adverts.

Mr. MASEKA also testified that former PF Secretary General MWILA refused to sign a contract after the business agreements for the party’s campaign adverts in the two Newspaper Companies were brokered.

Meanwhile LAMASAT Media Director AHMED AHMED testified that the PF owes his media organisation one point five million KWACHA in unpaid campaign advert charges.

Mr. AHMED testified that LAMASAT Media and PF’s Contract for the campaign adverts prior to the 2021 General Election stood at five million KWACHA.

This is in a matter where Mr. MWILA and Legal Practitioner ANNA MWITWA of ANNA MWITWA and Company are charged with possession of money deemed to be proceeds of crime and failure to report suspicious transactions.
