Petersen Defends His Defection To The Socialist Party

Musician and Socialist Party Kabwata Parliamentary candidate Mundia Mukubesa popularly known as Petersen Zagaze has defended his decision to ditch the UPND after he was not adopted for the Nalikwanda parliamentary seat.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr Mukubesa says apart from being his democratic right to join any association of his choice, he did an introspection of his decision and believes it is in the interest of the people of Kabwata.
Mr Mukubesa says though the backlash was expected, those still doubting his political move will soon understand the reasons for his departure from the UPND.
He further explains that as it stands, he has a high chance of scooping the Kabwata parliamentary seat, as he has the right credentials to win the support of the electorate in the constituency.
Barely 24 hours after he was not adopted by the UPND to contest the Nalikwanda seat, Mr. Mukubesa ditched the party to join the socialist party where he has been adopted as the party’s Kabwata constituency parliamentary candidate causing a social media backlash.
