Patson Daka nets third goal in preseason

Zambia national team forward Patson Daka continued his goal scoring form in preseason as he netted in Leicester City’s 3-1 win over Derby County at Pride Park.

Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho put the Foxes in the lead ten minutes into the second half scoring his firs goal of pre-season before Derby’s Tom Barkhuizen levelled matters 10 minutes later.

But Patson Daka struck for the third time this pre-season and Callum Wright got himself on the scoresheet to win it for City.

Daka was the Foxes biggest danger to Derby’s goal, with the Zambian squeezing a few shots on goal that Wildsmith was equal to while others went wide and he also hit the side net.

There was no doubting Leicester were in the ascendancy, after the hour mark and it was that man Daka, now with three goals in his last three pre-season outings, who would find the target with a cool finish – 11 minutes remained at Pride Park.

Young midfielder Callum Wright who replaced Iheanacho pounced on Wildsmith’s save from Tielemans to seal the 3-1 win.

Daka has scored three goals and has set up one in the four preseason friendly matches that Leicester City have played so far.

The Foxes will conclude their pre-season schedule with a King Power Stadium encounter against Sevilla on Sunday (6pm kick-off).
