Patson Daka has his confidence back as he eyes consistency

Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka is feeling positive ahead of the 2022/2023 English Premier League season. 

Daka believes he has put in a lot of work in preseason with the Foxes in preparation for the new season. 

The Zambian international told the club’s official website that he has now settled and understands his teammates better.

“It has been a great pre-season for me. I feel like I’ve really put in a lot of work this pre-season and when you look at the previous one, with COVID-19 and things like that, it was really difficult to get started with the team. But I think this time around, it has been really, really great,” he said.

I feel I have settled in now, I kind of know how the league is and what to expect and also, I now have a full understanding of how my team-mates play, how they expect me to play and where they want me to be.”

Daka has found the net three times during friendly fixtures this summer for Leicester City and believes his confidence is now back.

“I kind of feel like my confidence is back as well. It’s always good to get goals for your confidence and, looking towards the season, it gives you direction and you know where you stand,” Daka said.

“For me, it’s about consistency in performances, consistency in scoring goals and helping the team get maximum results and that’s what I’m focusing on. But yes, I feel really good, I feel fit and I feel like I’m ready for the start of the season and I’m ready to go.”

“The main goal for me now, I think, is just to establish myself this season,” he explained.

“I feel I have settled in now, I kind of know how the league is and what to expect and also, I now have a full understanding of how my team-mates play, how they expect me to play and where they want me to be. I think all of that will help me.”

The Foxes start the 2022/23 Premier League season at home against Brentford on Sunday at 15:00hrs central African time.
