By Etambuyu Katota

The UPND Election Agent for the Kabwata by-election CHILEKWA MUNKONGE says ANDREW TAYENGWA is still candidate for the Kabwata parliamentary by-election until the party decides otherwise.

Mr. MUNKONGE says the party has resumed mobilization on the ground in Kabwata and waiting to resume campaigns as guided by the Electoral Commission of Zambia- ECZ.

He says the UPND is confident of retaining the Kabwata seat stating that people want the UPND hence giving them a vote in the August 12th General Election.

Mr. MUNKONGE was speaking to ZNBC News in an interview in Lusaka today.

And, People’s Alliance for Change – PAC President ANDYFORD BANDA said the party is will still field SYDNEY ZYAMBO as its Kabwata by election candidate.

Meanwhile, Economic and Equity Party President CHILUFYA TAYALI said he will re-file in his nomination on January 19.

Mr. TAYALI is confident of scooping the Kabwata seat because people want an opposition that will off proper checks and balances to government which the EPP will offer.

He has however expressed disappointment with some sentiments and insults on President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA from the PF.

Mr. TAYALI said an opposition must be able to add value to the governance system and the PF having been in power must understand this fully.
