“Parly Walk Out is Misapplication of Funds”

Justice Minister Given Lubinda says the walk out of Parliament by MPs from the opposition United Party for National Development-UPND-  when the Electoral Process Amendment and Public Order Bills  were being read out amounts to misapplication of funds.Mr. Lubinda has  condemned the move saying the action is unjustified because the MPs are being paid using public  funds for sitting in Parliament. He said the opposition UPND MPs should take such national matters seriously instead of staying away.He said it is unfortunate that the opposition always want to stay away from important national engagements which affect Zambians. And Parliament has deferred the consideration of Second Reading of the Electoral Process Amendment and Public Order Bills.Minister of Justice Given Lubinda says this is to allow various stakeholders express themselves through parliament on the constitutional amendment bill 2019.Mr. Lubinda says the two bills will therefore be looked at after Parliament has concerned itself with the Constitutional Amendment Bill.He has appealed to all stakeholders especially political parties to make submissions on the constitutional amendment bill so that no one is left behind.
