OPPOSITION PRAISES GOVT. ON TEACHER RECRUITMENT

By Limmy Likando-An Opposition aspiring Member of Parliament for Livingstone Central Constituency has commended government for its intention to recruit more teachers.

AGGRYFIL BRILL of the Socialist Party says the pronouncement by Vice President INONGE WINA that government will recruit more teachers especially in rural areas could not have come at a better time.

Mr. BRILL says politics on teacher recruitment must be put aside and focus on the positives that the recruitment will bring forth.

Mr. BRILL, a former trained teacher said despite belonging to an opposition political party, he has no problem commending Government on things he feels are positive and bring development to people regardless of their political affiliation.

And Secondary Schools Teacher’s Union of Zambia -SESTUZ- Provincial Vice Secretary CHARLES MULENGA says the recruitment will help cushion the deficit most schools are faced with.

He said rural areas need more teachers in subjects like Mathematics and Science.
