Full-Time Scores:

Cameroon 2 – 1 Cote D’lvoire (Meyong Charlene 28′, Nchout Ajara(P) 85′ | Rebecca Elloh 47′)

Zambia’s Opponents in next year’s fifth and final round of the Tokyo 2020 Women’s Olympics Qualifier have been confirmed and they will meet Cameroon who has edged Ivory Coast 2-1 in the Fourth Round return match played in Yaounde at Ahmadou Ahidjo Omnisports Stadium this evening.

A goal each in both halves from Meyong Menene Charlene and a penalty converted by Norwegian based Nchout Njoya Ajara in the 85th minute was enough to hand the Coach Alain Djeumfa side a sweet victory over the Ivorians who found the back of the net through Rebecca Elloh.

Meyong Charlene sent the home team in the lead just before the half-hour mark and immediately after the break Rebecca Elloh replied with an equalizer for the Les Elephantes in the 47th minute but that wasn’t enough as Valerenge forward Ajara Nchout converted from the penalty spot in the dying minutes of the Match to send the Indomitable Lionesses to the final round of the Qualifiers with a 2-1 victory.

The Indomitable Lionesses will now face the Copper Queens of Zambia in the final round which is a do or die tie to be played next year with the winner over two legs Qualifying to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics while the runner-up will have another chance to redeem themselves against Copa American runner-up Chile in a Play-Off with the Victor’s making the final cut to the Olympics.

Zambia on Monday 11th November 2019 eliminated Kenya 3-2 on aggregate.

After battling to a 2-2 Draw last week on Friday in Nairobi, the Copper Queens were a more favorable side going into the return match especially playing in front of the home side and it was a Lushomo Mweemba second-half goal which separated the two sides as the Harambee Starlets went down 1-nil in a match that was played at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium.

The Copper Queens will be away in Yaounde in the first leg on 13th January 2020 and a week later host the Indomitable Lionesses in the return match at home in Lusaka.
