One person dies in head-on vehicle collision in Kabwe, police say

ONE person has died while three others sustained minor injuries after the Toyota Corolla they were travelling in collided head on with the Toyota Hilux in Kabwe along the Great North Road.
The accident happened on Friday around 22:30 hours near Makwati trading center in Kabwe after the driver of the Hilux identified as Basil Njovu aged 50 years of  Lusaka’s John Laing failed to keep to near side (lane)  and in the process collided head-on  with the Corolla which had the right of way.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo who confirmed this in a statement to Mwebantu said the driver of the Corolla identified as Pumulo Sifuwe aged 31years of Kalumbila town center died on the spot while three of his passengers sustained minor injuries and were all rushed to Kabwe General Hospital where they are admitted.
She said the body of the deceased is in the Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem while the driver of the Toyota Hilux has been charged with Causing Death by Dangerous Driving and is detained at Kasanda police station.
