Official: Hellen Mubanga joins Spanish side Real Zaragoza

The Copper Queens forward has become the latest member of the Olympics bound squad to ink a deal abroad.

Mubanga has penned a three year deal with the Spanish second tier of Women’s football campaigner.

“The Zaragoza team continues with the management and planning of the next season 20/21, with the signing of the player Hellen Mubanga, fifth signing, to complete the attacking area of ​​the team.”

The news comes just barely four days after the club announced the acquisition of compatriot, Rachel Nachula.

The 25-year-old has been instrumental for the Copper Queens in recent past winning the player of the tournament at the 2019 COSAFA tournament and scoring the second goal in Zambia’s 2-1 win over Cameroon to make history and book a place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Mubanga is currently the leading goalscorer in the Lusaka FAZ Women’s league with 14 goals from 8 games.
