Nyimba Gets Water Project

Fortune Malata-At least 46,000 people in 4 Wards of Nyimba District in Eastern Province will benefit from a water supply project worth over K7m.

Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection Permanent Secretary JOE KALUSA says Nyimba Water Project is aimed at meeting the increased demand for water arising from rapid population growth and economic activities in the district.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr. KALUSA said organizations such as World Vision must be praised for their determination in ensuring clean and safe water is provided especially to children.

Meanwhile, World Vision Zambia Associate Director for Operations KENNEDY SONDOYI said the project which started in 2018 would not have been achieved without assistance from Government and traditional leaders in the district.
