NUPPEZ Advocates For Teacher Recruitment In 2019

National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia (NUPPEZ) President, Victor Muyumba has called on the government to ensure the 2019 national budget provides an allocation for teacher recruitment.

Mr. Muyumba says the teacher pupil ration in the country is still high, hence the need to ensure that more teachers are recruited to bridge this gap.

Mr. Muyumba has told QTV News that teachers find it difficult to mark the work of the pupils because they are managing more pupils than normal.

He has also noted the need for government to decentralize the recruitment of teachers to avoid sending teachers to places where they are not familiar with.

Mr. Muyumba says it is important that the teachers are locally recruited.
