Numba explains armband rotation as he insists Taonga still captain
Sensational Zanaco coach Numba Mumamba explained the logic behind the rotation of the armband among his players week in week out. Numba revealed that Taonga Bwembya was still the captain but he wanted to teach his players responsibility on the field hence the rotation.
The bankers have been captained by a number of players so far this season with Souleymanou Moussa being the latest player to wear the armband on Saturday against Zesco United. Taonga Bwembya and Tafadzwa Rusike have also already captained the bankers so far this season.
“The captain is Taonga Bwembya but we are just rotating the captaincy so that the players get the responsibility. They must know that everyone is the leader on the pitch that’s why we want to motivate everyone to weah the armband,” He said.
The bankers humbled Ndola based Zesco United beating them 4-1 on Saturday at Sunset Stadium as they continued their chase for a eighth title .
The Chipolopolo interim coach however still feels his side has some more work to do especially in defence where they have conceded in almost all their games so far this season.
“We still have some work to do especially in defence . We are not defending very well that’s why we have been conceding a lot of goals but we are working on that,” he said.
Zanaco top Stream A with 26 points with Lusaka dynamos scored equal on points but trail on goal difference. Kabwe Warriors are third with 22 points but their game against Nakambala Leopards was abandoned and await FAZ ruling.
