Northern Province’s likely bumper harvest

Chief Mumporokoso says Northern Province is likely to produce a bumper harvest of maize following the early distribution of seed and fertiliser during the 2019 – 2020 farming season.The traditional leader says this is coupled with the good rainfall that the province is receiving.Chief Mumporokoso says the distribution of farming inputs is a sign that President Edgar Lungu cares for the farmers and is working hard to help them succeed.The traditional leader said this in an interview with ZANIS in Mporokoso.And senior Chief Nsama said 24,000 farmers have received both urea and compound D fertiliser under the Famer Input Support Programme -FISP in Nsama district.The traditional leader said the allocation of seeds and fertiliser to farmers in the district has continued to help fight poverty at household level.
