No Fertiliser has been Rejected – ZCSA

The Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency -ZCSA- says it has not rejected any locally manufactured fertiliser.

ZCSA Acting Head Communications, CAROLINE KALOMBE has dispelled social media reports that the Agency has rejected fertiliser produced by United Chemical Fertiliser Zambia Limited.

Ms. KALOMBE told ZNBC News in a statement that fertiliser is a product subject to compulsory standards and is regulated by the Agency.

She said this means that all manufacturers and importers of the commodity are required to comply with requirements of relevant compulsory standards.

Ms. KALOMBE has assured all stakeholders that in line with its mandate, the Agency inspected the United Chemical Fertiliser Company Zambia Limited manufacturing plant and will continue conducting routine factory inspections.

She said the Agency will also conduct periodic testing of the fertiliser produced to ensure continued compliance with requirements of relevant compulsory standards.
