NO CASE OF COVID -19 IN NORTHWESTERN

Health authorities in Northwestern Province have dismissed social media reports that the region has recorded a case of Coronavirus.Provincial Health Director, Charles Msiska says Northwestern province has not recorded any laboratory confirmed COVID-19 case.Dr. Msiska has, however, clarified that health authorities in the region had put some people in quarantine because they had reportedly come from high risk countries.He said all cases that were under laboratory investigation came out negative adding that the Ministry of health will continue being on high alert to avert the spread of the Coronavirus in an event that there was a positive case of COVID-19 in the region.Dr. Msiskawas speaking on the side-lines of the polio vaccination awareness program in Chief Nyakaseya’s area in Ikelenge district.He appealed to members of the community in Northwestern province to report any suspected case of Coronavirus to health authorities for investigations.
