Nkana jet into Egypt ahead of Pyramids clash

Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup Nkana have finally arrived in Cairo, Egypt ahead of their first group stage game against Egypt’s Pyramids FC set for this Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

The team landed at Cairo International Airport at 11:20 hours aboard Emirates Airlines. The team is camped at Radisson Blu Hotel in Cairo.

Nkana has not been doing well in the league but head coach Kelvin Kaindu is comforted by the fact that they have done slightly better in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“It has not been good the way we have performed in the league but the slight consolation for us is that we have done better in the CAF Confederation Cup. Again we get a trip to North Africa which could have affected us in the game against Power Dynamos with the fatigue. It was a lesson for us the way we traveled. We face Pyramids FC, they are a good team who have gotten points both home and away and we are slightly cautious about them,” he said.

Meanwhile captain Kelvin Moyo says he is disappointed with himself for the silly goals they have been conceding but he has promised to work very hard in the game against Pyramids FC.

“Now it’s not about qualifying but points. We looking to raise our game, We face Pyramids FC it won’t be easy but we will do our best, give our all, and fight. We looking to get three points or a point away.”

Nkana and Pyramids FC will square off on Wednesday, 10th March 2021 at 18:00hrs at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in al-Qāhirah, Cairo.
