NKANA FACE NAPSA IN ABSA CUP

Super League Champions Nkana football club will this afternoon battle National Division one outfits NAPSA Stars for a place in the 2022 ABSA Cup final.

The Semi final encounter will be played at the Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka at 15:00 hours.

Clinching a slot in the finals for either side will take them an inch closer to the 6-hundred and 50-thousand kwacha rich trophy.

The game is set to be electric as Nkana football fans are expected to drum up support for their team after the club executive was given a go ahead for fans to attend to match.

Nkana Supporters Association, National Chairperson EMMANUEL ZULU has told ZNBC Sports News that the executive has rescinded its decision to bar fans from attending the ABSA Cup Semi-final encounter following the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- Appeals
Committee’s decision to reduce the fine placed on the club.

ZULU said with the fine reduced the Association has tasked all fans to troop in numbers and support the team at the Woodlands Stadium this afternoon.

The – FAZ- Appeals Committee this week reduced the fine handed to Nkana for crowd trouble that characterized the week 20 match against Red Arrows to only two games without spectators and a sum of 15 thousand kwacha.

In the quarterfinals of this year’s competition, NAPSA and Nkana needed penalties to eject Green Buffaloes and Lumwana respectively.

Winner of this afternoon’s encounter will face winner of tomorrow’s Semi-final between Green Eagles and Red Arrows.

The final of this year’s competition will be staged at the National Heroes Stadium on April 16th.
