New Wholesale Price For Mealie Meal Will Be K85- MAZ

The Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) says the new wholesale price of mealie meal for a 25kg bag of breakfast is expected to be about K85.

MAZ National Coordinator Andrew Chintala says this follows the signing of the contracts by nine milling companies with the Food Reserve Agency and the Grain Traders Association aimed at reducing the wholesale and retail price of mealie meal.

Mr. Chintala has since urged millers to honor their contract and reduce the price of mealie-meal as agreed.

He has also appealed to traders affiliated to the millers to display their prices so that people will be able to see the new prices.

Mr Chintala has warned that the Association will conduct a random check on millers who have signed contracts with the FRA to see whether they have reduced the prices or not.
