Nevers Mumba MMD welcomes ACC appeal

The Nevers Mumba led MMD faction has welcomed the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) appeal against the recent Magistrate Court ruling in which its leader was handed an Absolute Discharge on abuse of authority charges .

Spokesperson Cephas Mukuka says the former ruling party is not moved by the decision taken by the ACC.

Dr. Mukuka has told Q-News that the party is fully aware that the case in which Dr. Mumba was facing two counts of Abuse of Authority of Office was politically motivated from the start.

He says it was clear then and now that the intention was to allegedly ruin Dr. Mumba’s reputation following his recall as High Commissioner to Canada.

Dr. Mukuka says no matter how far the court case will go, the truth will prevail.
