NETBALL:Lack of Height Disadvantages Zambia

The Netball Association of Zambia says a lack of players with formidable height is what has affected the country’s performance at various continental and global tournaments.

Association President MARTHA SICHONE says finding the right players especially in  the teams defense and upfront shooters has been a challenge as most are moderate in height making it difficult to face opponents who have height advantage.

SICHONE says the Association is embarking on Nationwide camping to recruit players who will meet the right criteria.

She disclosed to ZNBC Sports News in an interview that the National team is in Mongu Western Province to search for tall players who can be roped into the team

SICHONE says the new players will be part of the plan to ensure that Zambia qualifies for the 2027 Netball World Cup to be held in Australia.
