NATIONAL LAND TITLING PROJECT LAUNCHED

 

Lands Minister JEAN KAPATA has launched the national land titling project, with a target of issuing 4 million certificates of titles on state land by 2027.

Ms. KAPATA says the project will enable the country to increase the issuance of titles, currently standing at about 3 hundred thousand.

She says the scaling up of the systematic land titling project will enable all Zambians secure their land rights.

Ms. KAPATA said this today when she launched the land titling programme which will be carried out by Medici Land Governance in collaboration with the national land titling centre.

She said the project will involve various ministries and provincial administrations.

The minister has since urged the public to meet their statutory obligations by paying the statutory fees which will enable release of title deeds.

And Medici Country Manager DIDIER SAGASHYA said the systematic land titling program will enhance transparency of ownership of land and secure land rights of citizens.

Meanwhile, National Land Titling Centre Project Manager EMMANUEL TEMBO in a speech read on his behalf by KENNEDY CHIBANGULA said the project will enable the country formalise all pieces of land and determine the extent of the land occupied.
