NAKACHINDA: Bill 10 Response Progressive

Chairperson of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Bill ten Rapheal  Nakachinda has described the response from stakeholders on the Constitution Amendment Bill number 10 of 2019 as progressive.Mr. Nakachinda, who is also nominated Member of Parliament, says the response from stakeholders especially from the Western province is very positive.Speaking to ZNBC News in an interview, Mr. Nakachinda said the traditional leadership in the Western Province was able to share its thoughts about the proposed amendments to Bill ten and how the way forward should be.He said the traditional leadership has some suspicions on some proposed amendments which they think are targeted at them.Mr Nakachinda has disclosed that he received some proposals from the traditional leadership which stands a chance for consideration in parliament if the MP from the province work as one.And Mr. Nakachinda has since called on the Members of Parliament to put aside political affiliation and work as one in the amendment process.He said it will be very unfair if the House fails to make use of the opportunity presented before it to give Zambians a Constitution that will stand the test of time.The Lawmaker there is need for parliamentary to apply themselves in a selfless and positive manner in dealing with the amendment process.Before parliament adjourned, the Constitution Amendment Bill number 10 of 2019  had been presented for second reading.
