MWIIMBU urged to issue ministerial statement on Luangwa political violence

Speaker of the National Assembly NELLY MUTTI has directed Home Affairs Minister JACK MWIIMBU to deliver a Ministerial Statement on the alleged violence in the just ended Luangwa Chairperson by-election.

Ms. MUTTI says the minister must guide the nation on the alleged violence by political party cadres.

She says the issue of violence is sensitive because in some cases it leads to loss of life.

Ms. MUTTI made the directive following a matter of urgent public importance  raised by Chama South Member of Parliament, DAVISON MUNG’ANDU.

Mr. MUNG’ANDU alleged that some political party cadres harassed people in Luangwa and beat up a Woman Councillor.
