Mwepu trains all week…Set to play against Liverpool

Zambia national team captain Enock Mwepu will finally make his long awaited return to action on Saturday as Brighton and Hove Albion welcome title chasing Liverpool.

Mwepu has been out since early January when he was replaced by Alexis Mac Allister midway through the half in Brighton’s 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in a third-round Emirates FA Cup tie.

Manager Graham Potter confirmed in pre-match press conference on Thursday that Mwepu has trained all week.

Potter however wants to easy the Zambian international into action after being on the sidelines for two months.

“Adam Webster is the only player who is missing for this Saturday’s game, everyone else is available.

“Enock Mwepu has trained this week which is really good. We need to have a look at his minutes, but the fact that he’s involved with the group is great news.”

Mwepu’s goal of the season contender got Albion back into the game at Anfield in October after Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane had given the Reds a two-goal lead.

Leandro Trossard equalised in fine fashion and, in the end, a point was the least Graham Potter’s men deserved.

The Seagulls will look to end a run of four defeats when they face Premier League title contenders Liverpool on Saturday, 14:30pm kick-off.
