MUZALA PROGRESSES TO SEMI-FINAL

Chansa Kunda – Zambian Sprinter and Africa’s gold medalist in the 400 meters race MUZALA SAMUKONGA has progressed to the semifinals of the World Championships being held in Oregon USA.

SAMUKONGA clocked 45.82 seconds in the men’s 400 meters race to finish in second position.

MICHAEL CHERRY of the USA won the race and progressed to the next round top of heat three clocking 45.81 seconds while Belgian ALEXANDER DOOM clocked 46.18 to finish in third position.

SAMUKONGA’s next race will be in the early hours of Wednesday at 04:30 hours Zambian time.

The Sprint Session will be in heat two of the Men’s semifinal as he will race eight other athletes for a place in the final.

Speaking to ZNBC Sports News, SAMUKONGA said his target is to qualify to the final of the competition.
