Mutti Calls on Chief Mukuni

By Moombe Hamobola

Speaker of the National Assembly NELLY MUTTI says there is a need for all Zambians to work together to promote unity and peace.

Speaking when she paid a courtesy call on Chief MUKUNI of Kazungula District Ms. MUTTI said  there should be no segregation in the country as that would be a recipe of conflict.

She has since praised Chief MUKUNI for his great spirit of uniting people in the country.

Ms. MUTTI is in Livingstone to attend the 14th Ordinary session of the plenary Assembly of the Forum of Parliamentarians of the member states of the international conference on the great lakes (FP-ICGLR)

Meanwhile Ms. MUTTI said the theme of the conference which is “the role of parliaments in climate change adaptation in the Great Lakes region” is timely because it is at a time when Zambia has been hit hard with drought.

Ms. MUTTI said despite many Zambians heeding to President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s call to plant a lot of maize, the rains season was disappointing leading to very poor maize yields.
