Mutati lobbies China to finish Govt Printers installations

The Zambian Government has called on China to help expedite the completion of works on the web press at the Government Printers

Works and Supply Minister, Felix Mutati, says the equipment that was procured from China for Government Printers has never been operational.

Speaking when Chinese ambassador to Zambia Li Jie called on him, Mr. Mutati disclosed that this is for almost four years despite various follow ups by the Zambian government.

Mr. Mutati has urged Mr. Li to help find a lasting solution as the equipment can support printing of various government documents including ballot papers during election time.

He states that the equipment at Government printers is cardinal and the Zambian government wants to see it work.

And Mr. LI assured Mr. Mutati that he will take up the matter and see how best it can be done so that the equipment delivers.

Mr. LI, who has been in the country for two months, has also maintained that Zambia remains China’s preferred destination for investment.

He states that this is because of its stable political and economic environment.

This is contained in a statement made available to QTV News by Ministry Of Works And Supply Public Relations Officer Ndubi Mvula.
