MUTATI CHALLENGES ZAMPOST ON REVENUE GENERATION

(ZANIS) Minister of Science and Technology, FELIX MUTATI has implored ZAMPOST to create multiple revenue generating avenues and win back people’s confidence.

And Mr. MUTATI has also directed the corporation to bring back the post bus as it still remains the people’s choice in the country.

ZANIS reports that Mr. MUTATI said this in Ndola during the official launch of E-Zampost and Zampost Money, the two products introduced by the corporation.

He emphasized the need for ZAMPOST to embrace smart partnerships by designing a business model that will help to generate revenue.

Mr. MUTATI added that the postal company should also strive to be the centre for all government services by creating a one stop convenient place where all public services will be accessed.

Mr. MUTATI said while government remains committed to supporting the corporation, management must ensure that the institution gets back to being a reliable partner for delivery of government social services

He said time has come for the institution to extinguish dependency on government grants for survival but to be able to give dividends to government.

And ZAMPOST Post Master General BRIGHTON NG’OMA said the corporation is changing the way it conducts business.

Mr. NG’OMA said the launch of the two products is part the transformation agenda the corporation has embarked on.

He stated that the e-commerce Zampost platform is world class standard that will allow citizens conduct business in a conducive manner.

He said the platform is also aimed at decentralizing government services that will be hosted on the platform among them business registrations, immigration and payment services.

He added that like other mobile money operators, the corporation will soon be doting its booths across the country.
