BY JOSEPH NYIRENDA

Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE says the 100 million dollars World Bank budget support has given impetus to efforts of turning around the national economy.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE has told ZNBC News in an interview that the financing will help government successfully implement adjustments to encourage economic growth.

He said the funding is providing a lifeline to recover the economy which was struggling before an International Monetary Fund -IMF- Recovery package was implemented.

And Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said results from discussions to unlock Mopani and KCM are encouraging as some of the best mines in the world have expressed interest in the two entities.

He said government is working to get the best investors for the two mines.

The finance minister has since urged people on Copperbelt to be patient with government as the process to find the investors is ongoing.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said government will continue to enhance incentives that will attract investment and job creation in the mining and other sectors.

He said government is already implementing measures to encourage value addition in the mining and agriculture sectors to unlock the country’s economic potential.
