Munkombwe Burial on Today

The late Daniel Chibbwalu Munkombwe will be laid to rest at his Kabebya Farm today.

Munkombwe will be remembered as a freedom fighter and also a minister in all post-colonial governments except the current one where he was considered a political get-way into Southern province.

His straight talking ways sometimes took an embarrassing tone as his confession that he propagated politics of the belly did.

Although many did mock him about his politics of benefits ideology they would not deny his political astuteness that rendered him invaluable to all the Heads of State.

President Edgar Lungu is expected to attend the burial in Choma today.

Munkombwe died last week aged 86 after a long battle with cancer.

Former Heads of State Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Rupiah Banda are expected to attend the burial among other notable dignitaries.

President Lungu honoured Munkombwe with an official funeral that falls today.
