MUNIR ZULU arrested for seditious practices

Police in Lusaka have charged and arrested Lumezi Member of Parliament MUNIR ZULU for the offence of Seditious Practices.
Mr. ZULU 35 is alleged to have uttered Seditious words saying that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA will dissolve Parliament on Friday, September 8th 2023 and that he will be calling for early elections.
The independent Lumezi Member of Parliament is said to have uttered the sentiments on September 7, 2023 at Ibex Hill Police station.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE has confirmed the arrest.
Mr. MWALE said Mr. ZULU is alleged to have incited Zambians to start getting ready for campaigns after the President dissolves Parliament.
He said the words have raised discomfort and disaffection among the people of Zambia.
Mr. MWALE has told ZNBC News in a statement that the suspect has been detained in Police custody waiting for court appearance.
