MUNDUBILE REMINDS UPND

By Hector Simfukwe:

Parliamentary Chief Whip Brian Mundubile says calls by the opposition UPND for government to amend the Public Order Act has exposed those who attacked the Constitutional amendment Bill number ten of 2019.

Mr. Mundubile says it is sad that the same people who refused to amend the Public Order act and other laws are today complaining about the same pieces of  legislation.

He says efforts by government to change the Public Order Act were frustrated by the UPND and some Civil Society organizations who claimed that the Constitutional Amendment Bill was poisonous as it sought to extend President Edgar Lungu’s stay in office.

Mr. Mundibile told ZNBC that Zambians should now judge for themselves as to who has sincere on the issues of amending the constitution.

Mr. Mundubile remarks were in response to calls by UPND Livingston Member of Parliament Mathew Jere who wants government to repeal the Public Order Act because it does not provide for a level playing field for political players.
