MUCHINGA YOUTHS GET K19.8m FUNDING

Government has empowered 247 Youth clubs and Co-operatives in Muchinga Province under the Multi-sectoral Youth empowerment fund to the tune of 19.8 million kwacha.

Speaking on behalf of Youth and Sport Minister, EMMANUEL MULENGA, Muchinga province permanent Secretary DAVISON MULENGA, said the funds will benefit over 2,500 youths from various youth clubs and cooperatives.

Mr. MULENGA said the funds are aimed at creating job opportunities and wealth among youths.

He said the programme has funded various projects in Agriculture, Construction and Transport among others.

The Minister has urged Youths to venture in business to create wealth for themselves.

He said it is important for youths to take advantage of various empowerment programmes Government is rolling out to start and build their businesses.

And a Youth Representative, DAVID NYIRENDA thanked Government for the funding.

Mr NYIRENDA said the funds will go a long way in helping youths to create jobs and wealth for themselves.

He advised youths to put the funds to good use.
