MUCHIMA DIRECTS LUSAKA CITY COUNCIL

Lands Minister, ELIJAH MUCHIMA has directed the Lusaka City Council to demolish a wall fence, which has been constructed on Thabo Mbeki road reserve land in Lusaka’s Mass Media area.

Mr. MUCHIMA says this is because the development is illegal and the land involved is reserved for expansion of Thabo Mbeki road.

The Minister has also called for investigations to establish some government officials, who were involved in the issuance of title for the land where the fence has been built.

Speaking when he inspected the structure, Mr MUCHIMA warned that those, who authorised the developer to erect a wall fence, will be dealt with.

And Local Government Minister, GARY NKOMBO, who was with Mr. MUCHIMA, during the inspection of the illegal structure, said Lusaka the City Council must ensure the fence is demolished.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Mayor, CHILANDO CHITANGALA has advised people, who are putting up structures to follow the law to avoid losing out on their resources.
