Misozi confident of Copper Queens chances at AWCON

Turkey-based Copper Queens midfielder Misozi Zulu is confident of the Copper Queens chances at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Zulu was speaking after a training session held at Edwin Imboela stadium in Lusaka.

Zulu is part of a 31-member Copper Queens provisional squad preparing for the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations Tournament.

“So far so good , We are doing fine though we just started training. We are all pushing hard and the coaches are putting in a lot of effort for us to be in good shape.

For the young players, am always advising them to be disciplined and always listen to the coaches. I tell them to work extra hard,” She said.

“The team is very good. We have a good team, and yes we know Cameroon and beat them before but we have to work hard to do that again. They come with full force so we have to pull our socks and make sure they know that we have a good team.”

Misozi had an amazing season with Turkish Side Hakkarigucu and wants to replicate the form with the Copper Queens.

“It was a good season,I enjoyed , The same way I have been scoring there, I pray to God that even here I can do that to help the team and make our fans proud,” She said.

“The fans should continue giving us the support so that we can push extra hard. The support they give us boosts our morale.”

The Zambia Women’s National team were drawn in group B alongside giants Cameroon, North African side, Tunisia and Togo.

The 2022 Morocco Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will take place between 2nd and 23rd July, 2022.

The top 4 teams will qualify to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
