Minute of silence to be observed in week 22 in honor of Mapulanga and Namayowe

Zambia Super League and Eden University National Division One teams will observe a minute of silence in honor of late goalkeepers Moses Mapulanga and Boyd Namayowe.

This according to a memo by Zambian Premier League interim manager Brian Mulenga made available to the ZamFoot Crew.

The Football Association of Zambia has also advised clubs to wear black armbands where possible as a mark of respect.

“We direct all clubs to observe a minute of silence before all Week 22 fixtures of the Zambian Premier League for two gallant goalkeepers who served diligently with clubs in the Zambian Premier league and for the Senior Men’s Zambia national team and have passed on recently namely:- Boyd Namayowe and Moses Mapulanga.

If possible all teams should wear black armbands as a mark of respect. Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.”

Moses Mapulanga died on Wednesday night at Mazabuka General Hospital after a short illness.

Namayowe who was on the books of Konkola Blades died last month after a short illness.
