MILES SAMPA drags PF to Registrar of Societies

The Registrar of Societies has been given a seven day ultimatum to prevail over the Patriotic Front -PF- to hold its convention or face court action.

The ultimatum has been issued by PF member and Presidential Candidate MILES SAMPA.

Mr. SAMPA has further called upon the Registrar of Societies to stop the PF from flouting its constitution with regards to the appointment of the party’s  office bearers.

He says the appointment of Mr. NICKSON CHILANGWA as Acting Secretary General by Former President EDGAR LUNGU is illegal as the latter is no longer PF President.

Mr. SAMPA says the status quo infringes article 51 sub-article  one of the Constitution that stipulates that the Secretary General must be appointed by the incumbent Party President.

He further says the appointment of Mr .GIVEN LUBINDA as Acting President is illegal based on article 53 of the PF Constitution that entails the Secretary General must take over as Acting President after the resignation of the President, pending the Party’s Convention.

This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News  in LUSAKA today.
