Chipolopolo head Coach Milutin Sredojević, popularly known as Micho has spoken out on his reasons for dropping Chipolopolo skipper and TP Mazembe defender Kabaso Chongo.

Micho who spoke out for the first time during the Robert Marawa talk show after a series of friendly matches highlighted that Zambia National teams defense had allowed nine goals in their three last encounters going into the South Africa friendly match which included Algeria’s 5 nil thrashing, Zimbabwe’s 2 goals to one win at Heroes Stadium and the 2 goals to one defeat in Kenya.

The gaffer highlighted that whatever chemistry the backline had wasn’t working hence the need to ring changes and pointed out that for Kabaso, it was more than the Chemistry but his interactions with other players.

“I look at how the player behaves in camp, interacts and accommodates other players especially junior players and his contribution to his club as a professional player of which, Kabaso Chongo failed the test,” Micho said.

The outspoken coach went on to highlight the need to find strong player relationships and taking pride in representing the country.

Micho went on to say that there is room to improve player relations in the dressing room for the country that missed out on two consecutive AFCON tournaments 2017 and 2019.

Zambia picked up two wins during the FIFA window which saw them organize three friendly matches and lost one to Kenya which was Kabaso’s final game before getting dropped.

The Serbian gaffer was using the window to prepare for next months back to back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana. Zambia will host the Zebras on 9th November before traveling to Gaborone on 8 days later.
